History

The Collection Centre is the realisation of a vision. In 2007, the various collections of the Swiss National Museum, the workshops of our conservators and restorers, the Conservation Research Laboratory and the object logistics centre, lending department, object registration and photographic studio were brought together under one roof.

In 2005-2007, the former armoury of the Swiss Armed Forces was converted into the Collection Centre by Stücheli Architekten, Zurich, on behalf of the Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics.
